How Many Brake Pads Do I Need For My Car?
Most cars normally require four brake pads per axle, which adds up to eight pads if both the front and back axles need to be replaced. This requires two brake pads for each wheel, one for the inner and one for the outer side of the brake rotor. When replacing brake pads on just one axle, four pads are needed.

Brake Hardware
Brake hardware refers to minor components that help the drum brake system function properly. Key components include return springs that retract the brake shoes away from the drum after braking, hold-down springs and clips that keep the brake shoes in place, and adjusters that maintain proper shoe-to-drum clearance as the shoes wear down.
